Cycling the Don Valley Trail (Trans Pennine Trail)

In this video, we are cycling the Don Valley trail, which is one of our regular routes. Our ride runs from Cote Green carpark at Wortley heading North West to Dunford Bridge and then we return back down the same trail.

The Trail follows part of the former path of the Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway. As an x railway, the trail is relatively flat. Since we first rode the trail back in 2011 the route has been re-surfaced, removing large areas of uneven ground. The Don Valley Trail is part of the great Trans Pennine Trail.

We always enjoy cycling the Don Valley Trail. It is a route located quite close to where we live and we have ridden it in all weathers. It is mostly traffic-free and with the improved surface and new cafe on the route, it’s much better now than it was back in 2011.

Until next time stay safe on those trails.

Steve
